NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — A North Providence man was arrested on a ghost gun charge, police said.
Yilmaz Kasapoglu, 21, was arrested Wednesday by the Rhode Island State Police Intelligence Unit, Adult Correctional Institutions Special Investigations Unit and Uniform Bureau, and North Providence police, the state police said in a media release.
Kasapoglu was charged with manufacturing, selling, purchasing or possessing a ghost or 3D gun and receiving stolen goods, according to the release.
"This arrest resulted from a joint investigation by the Intelligence Unit and the North Providence Police Department," the release said.
"Mr. Kasapoglu was taken into custody and transported to the North Providence Police Department, where he was processed and later arraigned at Third Division District Court," according to the release. "Mr. Kasapoglu was issued a felony screening date at Providence Superior Court, where the additional charges of Larceny — Over $1,500 and Vandalism will be presented."
