• North Smithfield High Adds EMT Class Under Federal Grant (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield High School is launching a new EMT certification class for 21 students this school year, fully funded by a three-year federal rural health grant. The School Committee approved more than $70,000 for an ambulance simulator and classroom upgrades, with plans to expand enrollment and possibly add a nursing assistant pathway that could feed local emergency and healthcare jobs.
