• North Smithfield OKs $530K Police Dispatch Console (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield's Town Council has cleared the way for a new, mostly grant-funded $530,000 police dispatch console tied to the police station renovation, and approved new equipment for pothole repairs and winter road salt contracts. Councilors also updated the fire service staffing agreement, funded a tax appeal appraisal, and agreed to revisit e-bike and ATV rules in town parks after more research.
   

• North Smithfield School Committee Gets PFAS Filter Update (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield families learned that a permanent PFAS carbon filtration system for the middle and high school wells is still awaiting state approval, so the 2027 installation target may slip. For now, the schools continue blending water from two wells to stay under state limits, while officials weigh possible contamination sources and urge nearby well owners to consider PFAS testing.
   

• Ready for redemption? Toll Gate is and Tuesday's win only proved it. (providencejournal.com) — North Smithfield girls soccer dropped just its second game of the season, falling 3–1 at home to Toll Gate despite scoring first. The Northmen are now 8-2-3 and still near the top of Division II, with a chance to regroup before hosting West Warwick on Friday in another key late-season matchup.
