• North Smithfield OKs Pine Hill Quarry Settlement (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield residents should know the Town Council has approved a settlement resolving decades-old litigation over the Pine Hill Road quarry, even though final plan documents weren't yet public. The agreement lets the town administrator sign and sends an agreed judgment to Superior Court, while some neighbors question the timing and lack of opportunity to influence the final terms. 
• North Smithfield Flock Camera Approval Questioned (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield residents are raising pointed questions about who had authority to approve State Police Flock license-plate cameras in town and whether the Town Council was properly informed. At the August 17 meeting, speakers cited town records they say conflict with earlier explanations and asked the solicitor to clarify the administrator's powers and how many cameras could be installed under the existing approval.
