Here are the top stories in Pawtucket today:

  1. A Pawtucket business owner gave away hundreds of turkeys and winter jackets to needy residents in two local communities this weekend. Joe DeBarros, owner of Support is Key, organized his third annual Thanksgiving giveaway at 574 Main Street on Sunday to help the communities of Pawtucket and New Bedford. DeBarros has told reporters that he's made it his life mission to help those in need because he knows what it's like "not being able to afford the bare necessities." (WPRI.com)
  2. On Saturday, volunteers gathered at the Stop & Shop on Cottage Street to load around 20,000 pounds of turkey and sides into delivery trucks from seven Boys and Girls Clubs throughout the state. The Turkey Express program helped deliver the donated holiday meals to 25 community partners and hunger relief organizations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. Earlier this month, Stop & Shop also donated 1,000 turkeys to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. (WJAR)
  3. Don't miss the fun events happening at the Pawtucket Public Library before the holiday weekend! There's something for family members of all ages, including a Monday matinee of "Judas and the Black Messiah" at 1 p.m. today, a teen movie night screening of "Cruella" on Wednesday at 6 p.m., and daily Take and Make craft kids and a Turkey Hunt for the little ones.
