Crack Cocaine Probe Prompts Pawtucket Police To Raid House Near School: Cops

PAWTUCKET, RI — The Pawtucket Police Department Narcotics Unit raided a house two doors down from Elizabeth Baldwin Elementary School and seized crack cocaine as they arrested four men, police said.

"The search warrant was issued after an investigation by the Pawtucket Police Narcotics Unit into the distribution of crack
cocaine in the area of Baldwin Elementary School," the department said in a media release.

The department's Special Response Team and a police dog raided the house Wednesday along with the Narcotics Unit, according to the release.

"Inside of the residence detectives located crack cocaine, approximately $2,500 in cash, packaging material, and digital scales," the release said.

The four men were arrested during the operation, according to the release, were:

• Madueno Silveira, 35, who was charged with manufacturing or delivering with intent, keeping or maintaining a common nuisance, and distribution or manufacturing in or near schools
• Carlos Almedia, 55, who was charged with keeping or maintaining a common nuisance
• Odair Silveira, 27, who was charged with keeping or maintaining a common nuisance
• Walter Silveira, 21, who was charged with keeping or maintaining a common nuisance
