• Potential school bus strike put on hold amid negotiations (turnto10.com) — Families in Pawtucket and several nearby districts just got a brief reprieve, as a potential strike by more than 750 First Student school bus drivers has been put on hold while contract talks continue. Drivers serving Pawtucket, Providence and other communities are still without a deal, so parents are urged to stay alert and be ready with backup plans if negotiations break down.
   

• URI's upset hopes vs. Temple vanished after two costly pick-sixes (providencejournal.com) — URI's football team couldn't pull off an upset at Temple, falling 38–14 after two costly interception returns for touchdowns turned a close game into a comfortable Owls win. For Pawtucket fans, the focus now shifts to the Rams' home opener against Elon on Saturday, Sept. 12, kicking off at noon at Centreville Bank Stadium in the city.
