  1. The City of Pawtucket announces the second annual contest honoring Black History Month for Pawtucket's middle school students. The contest's goal is to submit works of art, poetry, and presentations expressing what Black History Month means to the students. The competition will run until Feb. 17, 2022, and submissions can be emailed to student's community liaisons. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
  2. A Providence man has been arrested for a homicide outside FabCity Cigar Lounge on Newport Avenue. Trequan Baker, age 29, is being charged for the murder of 36-year-old Qudus Kafo and the injuries of 37-year-old Prono Vaz. Baker was arrested through the Pawtucket Police Department's Flock Camera System. (ABC6)
  3. Applications for FY 2023 Community Development Block Grants through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development are now open, according to the City of Pawtucket. The grant program served Pawtucket organizations during the pandemic, covering costs for various projects. The deadline for submitting an application is Feb. 22, 2022. (Pawtucketri.com)
