- After a nearly 40-year career as a planning and economic development professional, the City of Pawtucket's commerce director, Jeanne Boyle is retiring. She will serve in her current position until mid-November. In an announcement, Mayor Donald Grebien praised Boyle for her leadership of the city's commerce department through the COVID-19 pandemic. - Pawtucket House candidate Tarshire Battle announced on social media yesterday that she was dropping her bid to unseat Rep. Karen Alzate, the Democrat who chairs the Legislative Black and Latino Caucus. Battle has been under public scrutiny over some recent Facebook posts, including one questioning COVID-19 vaccine mandates. She says she decided to abandon her short-lived legislative bid because she did not want her life to be "weaponized" against her. (The Providence Journal)
