Good day, people of Pawtucket! Nicole Fallon-Peek here with the Friday issue of the Pawtucket Daily.
First, today's weather:
Morning snow, 2-4". High: 34 Low: 18.
Here are the top stories in Pawtucket today:
- Local hardware stores like Tessier's Home Brew and Hardware are fully stocked with snow supplies for this morning's anticipated storm. Owner Bud Tessier said that, despite the ongoing supply chain issues across the country, he's been able to secure plenty of shovels, ice melt, rock salt, and other items Pawtucket residents will need to manage the snowfall. As a reminder, a winter storm watch is in effect through noon today. (WPRI)
- YMCA of Pawtucket staffer CJ Meehan has been named one of 11 Early Learning Champions by PBS. Established in 2018, this national program honors "passionate educators" who work with infants through second-graders. Meehan, the lead teacher and director of the Y's "Project Explorations" since June 2021, was recognized by PBS for advocating for social justice, racial equity, and LGBTQ curricula in an early childhood educational setting.
