🌱 Harm Reduction Station + 2 Indicted In Pawtucket Shooting

Here are the top stories today in Pawtucket:
- The city of Pawtucket will launch a "safe station" program for local residents who are battling addiction. Designed to combat the city's opioid crisis, Pawtucket's "Harm Reduction Station" program will begin Jan. 1. and offer 24/7 access to substance abuse treatment, resources, and recovery services for community members in need. "We have a responsibility to protect our community and provide resources to those who are in need in order to get them assistance with their substance use issues," said Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien. - Two individuals have been indicted in a deadly Pawtucket shooting. Todd Alicea and Jahcolin Rodrigues were charged by The Providence County Grand Jury with the May 15 murder of 20-year-old Leonardo Tavares. In addition to the murder charge, Alicea and Rodrigues both face four counts of conspiracy and one count each of drive-by shooting and discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in death. - The Pawtucket Public Library is hosting several exciting events for residents of all ages today. In addition to two all-day "take and make" crafting events, there is a Toddler Story Class, a Family Movie Night screening of "The Addams Family" (2019), and a Storied Lives Book Club Meeting.
