  1. Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner announced his run for governor in 2022. He is the co-chair of the Rhode Island School Building Task Force and helped develop a program to replace and transform 176 schools across the state, and said he is running to ensure Rhode Island has a strong economic recovery. He made the announcement at Pawtucket's under-construction Henry J. Winters Elementary School on Tuesday. (Associated Press)
  2. The Elisha Project teamed up with Feed the Children and Price Rite to run a local charity drive that distributed food and essentials to more than 800 Pawtucket families in need. State data indicates that one in five Pawtucket residents live in poverty, which includes nearly a third of its school children. "It's something that really warms my heart to make sure we really come together to support our neighbors," Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos said of the drive. (10 WJAR)
