Here are the top three stories today in Pawtucket:

  1. Crews are working to repair a major water main break in Pawtucket early Thursday morning. Officials spotted a pickup truck partially swallowed by a resulting sinkhole on London Avenue around 3 a.m. The driver, who was in the vehicle when the road buckled underneath him, had no injuries. The Pawtucket Water Supply Department were prompt to start repairs on the 8-inch water main. (WPRI.com)
  2. Pawtucket resident Troye Adams was arrested for dragging dog outside car while driving on Lonsdale Avenue. The Chihuahua was attached to the vehicle as Adams drove 30 mph. Police were able to rescue and send the dog to the Pawtucket Dog Shelter. Adams turned himself in on Jan. 4. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))

  • Pawtucket Fire Department announced that all fire stations will double as safe stations for those struggling with addiction. Safe stations are open 24/7 and will provide information about access to treatment centers, Narcan, fentanyl strips, and more. These stations are not recovery centers or injection sites, however, transportation is available to those who need. (Facebook)
