Pawtucket Woman Obtained Property By False Pretenses: Police

The Pawtucket woman also fraudulently obtained public assistance, police said.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket woman obtained property by false pretenses, police said.

Amanda Cooper, 36, was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Monday on charges of obtaining property by false pretenses or impersonation and fraudulently obtaining public assistance, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and (Cooper) subsequently turning herself in," the release said.

Cooper was processed and taken to Third Division District Court for Arraignment, according to the release.
