- The city of Pawtucket is recruiting its next class of police officers and firefighters. According to an announcement made on Monday, applications are being accepted now through March 21. A simulated version of the physical agility test for officers will take place on March 13 at Pariseau Field, and the official test is scheduled for March 26. (WPRI.com)
- A Central High graduate will be premiering his movie, which was filmed throughout Pawtucket and Providence, on Friday. Manny Perez is an actor's actor who has appeared in countless television series and movies, including Homeland and Law & Order. His film, La Soga Salvation, marks his directing debut and will play throughout the day and evening at the Providence Place Mall. (GolocalProv)
- A Pawtucket barbershop is giving inner-city youth more than just a free haircut — it's teaching them to be proud of their heritage. Kobbi Dennis, Haircuts and Heritage owner, pairs students from middle and high schools in Pawtucket, Providence, and Central Falls with a mentor to discuss their life goals and aspirations. In order to receive a haircut, students must maintain good grades and are referred to the barbershop from their schools. (WPRI.com)
