Here are the top 3 stories today in and around Pawtucket:

  1. Hasbro Children's Hospital, owned by the eponymous Pawtucket-based toy corporation, is hoping to make the holiday season a little brighter for the young patients staying at its facilities this month. The Glimmer of Hope Foundation has once again donated 30 "Santa Sacks" full of presents for those patients staying at Hasbro for the holidays. "Hopefully this gives them something to look forward to, especially this time of year," said South Kingstown police Officer Jen Fonseca, whose nonprofit the Hero Package Foundation partnered with Glimmer of Hope on the project this year. 2. Parked in Providence recently? You may have received a parking ticket — even though you already paid through the Passport mobile parking app. According to Providence officials, the problem mostly stems from "information that wasn't entered properly into the app," such as dashes on license plate numbers. It may also have been caused by a recent upgrade to the handheld devices officers use to check for parking verification. (WPRI.com)
  3. The Cub Scout Pack 28 of Pawtucket is hosting a fundraiser by selling delicious meat snack sticks from Country Meats. Place your order on their fundraising page and help support these Scouts! (Cub Scout Pack 28 Pawtucket)
