Here are the top stories today in Pawtucket:

  1. Saint Raphael Academy in Pawtucket has kicked off the public phase of its capital campaign, "The Next 100 Years: Building on Faith, Service, and Community for the Next Century." The campaign will run between now and 2024, which coincides with the Academy's centennial anniversary. The school has already raised nearly $5 million during the silent phase of the capital campaign, 90 percent of which is earmarked for scholarships and endowments. (The Valley Breeze)
  2. The Pawtucket Public Library recently opened a teen center featuring laptops, mobile chargers, tables for homework and group work, access to online homework help, and more. The library held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last weekend and will be open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. for students in grades 6 through 12. The new teen center was made possible thanks to grants from Champlin Foundation, the Rhode Island Foundation, the Rotary Club of Pawtucket and Central Falls, the Friends of the Library, and library trustees.   3. A Pawtucket tradition will live on at Polar Park in Worcester, Massachusetts. This year's Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival, which was held at McCoy Stadium in years past, will take place this Saturday evening at the home of the WooSox.
