These awards, funded by Community Development Block Grants (CDDBG) and managed by the state's Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD), will help to bridge the digital divide in the state. As part of this initiative, Pawtucket will receive up to $3,200 to update and improve the Wi-Fi access points for five community rooms across Pawtucket Housing Authority to ensure residents can access high-speed internet, even if they cannot obtain internet in their homes. 2. Elizabeth Baldwin Elementary School in Pawtucket has been selected by the Providence Performing Arts Center as one of five Providence-area schools to participate in the 2021 - 2022 Disney Musicals in Schools program. This initiative was developed by Disney Theatrical Group to create sustainable theater programs in under-resourced elementary schools. The selected schools will begin a 17-week musical theater residency in January 2022 and receive performance rights, education support materials, and guidance from two teaching artists.
