- On Dec. 1, coal tar oil from Pawtucket's $284 million Tidewater Landing project spilled into the Seekonk River — the second such spill in the past month. According to property owner National Grid, oil had breached booms set up in the water to contain it while crews remediated the site for a multiuse soccer stadium.
