It's a bit of a slow news day here in Pawtucket, so please enjoy these stories from Providence and other neighboring communities:

  1. The Rhode Island Health Department is asking that healthcare providers and patients file online reports of unvaccinated workers in violation of the Oct. 1 mandated vaccine deadline. The chief of the Center for Professional Boards and Licensing at the health department has said any licensees who are not vaccinated by the Oct. 1 deadline, unless they have a valid medical reason, will be subject to fines and administrative action. The RI Health Department will begin performing random audits of each license type in order to assess compliance. (The Boston Globe)
  2. A Providence police officer was ambushed and attacked downtown by a suspect he was attempting to apprehend. The officer was admitted to the hospital after having been beaten by the suspect, who was trying to take the officer's gun out of his holster. This incident is still under investigation.   3. A man was shot on Federal Hill in a Walmart parking lot on Sunday at 9 p.m., making this the seventh shooting in Providence since Thursday. (GoLocalProv)
  4. A man's head was grazed by a gunshot after a confrontation in a parking lot on Atwells Ave. in Providence. (The Providence Journal)
  5. Bob Dylan will be performing at the Providence Performing Arts Center on Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. as a part of his "Rough and Rowdy Ways" tour. (WJAR)
