Here are the top stories today in and around Pawtucket:

  1. Daniella Peraza Lemus, 22 of Central Falls, was arrested for filing a false police report about a young boy wandering near an exit of Interstate 95 in Pawtucket. The boy, whose age is unknown, was reportedly spotted by Peraza early Sunday morning and was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital to be evaluated as a precaution. He is currently in the custody of the Rhode Island Department of Children. The child's parent has since been located, according to police.(NECN)
  2. Pawtucket Police Sergeant Craig Allison, a member of the Motorcycle Unit, is participating in the 2021 Police Unity Tour. Sergeant Allison, a 15-year veteran of the police department, joins seven other Rhode Island motorcycle officers as they escort this year's contingent of bicyclists from New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. They will meet with the other eight chapters of the annual Police Unity Tour to honor all officers who have died in the line of duty at a candlelight vigil on Thursday, Oct. 14.   3. Amtrak trains on the Northeast Regional route were delayed for several hours yesterday after a pedestrian was hit on the tracks near Providence. Train 195 "made contact with a trespasser on the track" just west of Providence around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. A company spokesperson did not indicate whether the incident was fatal.
