Here are the top stories today in Pawtucket:
- A beloved Pawtucket holiday tradition is returning this weekend! Winter Wonderland kicks off in Slater Memorial Park on Dec. 4. The festivities officially start at 4 p.m. on Saturday with a Santa Parade. Winter Wonderland events will run Dec. 4 to 5 and Dec. 11 to 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. each evening, with entertainment and other festivities. Displays of 650 decorated Christmas trees, 20 Victorian houses, numerous light displays, and The Night Before Christmas Lane will be open for public viewing through Jan. 1. (Valley Breeze)
- Pawtucket police are asking for assistance in finding local resident Donna Bennett, 43, who has been missing since Nov. 10. Bennett was last seen in the North Main Street area of Providence. - Two individuals from Pawtucket have been charged by the Attorney General's office with 36 felony counts for allegedly trafficking multiple illegal firearms and possessing several others from 2020 to 2021. Brian Watson, 33, and Zaira Lozada, 32, were arrested on April 27 following an investigation by the Pawtucket Police and the ATF. They are scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on Jan. 12 in Providence County Superior Court.(WLNE-TV (ABC6))
- Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Foundation have announced that local nonprofits on the frontlines of the pandemic can apply for grants of $25,000 to $100,000 ($4.5 million total funding) to use towards services or direct assistance for individuals or communities vulnerable to COVID-19.
