80-Year-old Portsmouth Woman Allegedly Beat Man With Baseball Bat
The victim suffered from a serious head wound and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital's trauma unit, police say.

An elderly Portsmouth woman allegedly attacked a 77-year-old man several times with a baseball bat on Saturday, police say.
Filomena Tougas, 80, 12 Kensington Ave., was arrested and charged with domestic felony assault on Kensington Avenue Saturday morning, according to WJAR.
At about 7:44 a.m., police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance on Kensington Avenue and found the senior man who was suffering from a serious head wound.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital’s trauma unit to be evaluated.
Police said Tougas passed out when she was taken back to the police station and was admitted to Newport Hospital, Providence Journal reported.

She was arraigned in court and held without bail.
