AAA: Gas Prices Down Four Cents

AAA Southern New England says the cost of gas continues to decrease.

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down an average of four cents this week, the second straight week of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA's survey of prices in Rhode Island on Aug. 23 found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.70 per gallon, down four cents from last week.

The current price is equal to the national average for regular unleaded of $2.70. A year ago at this time, Rhode Island's average price was $2.68.

The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 33 cents, from a low of $2.569 to a high of $2.899.
