AAA: Gas Prices Up 5 Cents; First Increase in More Than 2 Months

The current price is 12 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.63.

Rising oil prices have led to the first increase in gasoline prices in Rhode Island in more than two months, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s July 11 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.75 per gallon, up five cents from a week ago. The current price is 12 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.63. A year ago at this time, Rhode Island’s average price was $2.73.

The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $3.61 to a high of $3.89.
