Ryan Kelley received a $1,000 scholarship on Senior Awards Night this past Monday.

American Legion Post 18 awarded Portsmouth High School senior Ryan Kelley with a $1,000 scholarship on Senior Awards Night this past Monday.
Kelley received the scholarship for his essay on "The Role of Service Dogs in the Rehabilitation of Combat Wounded Veterans."
On hand for the presentation were Post 18 Commander Robert Jerdan; Junior Vice Commander David Hayward; Recent Past Commander George Wardwell; member and USA Battle Buddies CEO Steve Frye; and life member and dog trainer Cynthia Kindell.

"We congratulate Ryan on his achievements and wish him well at Keene State College in New Hampshire in the fall," said Past Commander Christine Hayward.
