
Sara Bertuccio, Jenna Pasyanos, Christopher Strout, Jack Kelley (all grade 7), Philip Kirwin, Nicholas Pagel,and Dylan Young (all grade 8) were recently recognized as Pop Warner All-American Little Scholars at the Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts (RISMA) conference banquet and at Gillette Stadium during the Northeast Regional Awards.
Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner athletes compete for Academic All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level. In 2010 over 400,000 athletes participated in Pop Warner nationally and the top 2% were selected for PWLS All-American status. Athletes must meet a stringent criteria including a minimum 96% grade point average and have a resume of community service, extra curricular activities, and other earned recognition awards.
Sara Bertuccio and Christopher Strout were recognized as the top cheerleader and football player scholars in the RISMA conference. They each received a $500 savings bond, laptop computer, and glass plaque. Philip Kirwin and Dylan Young were also recipients of $500 scholarships at the Northeast banquet.
