Anna D's Cafe Seeks Liquor License Expanson
What's Sunday brunch without a nice cocktail?

The owner of Anna D’s Cafe is applying for a class BV liquor license, which would pave the way for cocktails and mixed drinks at the popular East Main Road eatery and ice cream shop.
In recent years, some private parties and people who have rented out the cafe have been “put off” when they find they can’t have full liquor service, said owner Anna DiMattino in an interview.
DiMattino said she also is hoping to craft menu items to be paired with cocktails, perhaps for tasting dinners with cocktails and wine. And they’ve expanded to serving a popular Sunday brunch, which calls for a bloody Mary or mimosa.

“With a full liquor license, we feel we can better serve our customers,” DiMattino said.
The business has held a beer and wine license for about six years with no issues, DiMattino said, and she hopes the request for a class BV license, which would allow full liquor service, will go over well with the Town Council on Monday night when the request is heard.

She notes that she isn’t about to turn Anna D’s Cafe into a bar and the liquor service is all about accompanying the menu and food offerings. They’ve already been hosting wine pairing dinners -- most recently on Nov. 14 -- and with a full liquor license, there would be no creative limitations, DiMattino said.
Anna D’s Cafe, located at 954 East Main Road, is open daily. Check their Facebook page for updates and hours.
