Bacteria Closes Sandy Point Beach to Swimmers
The state health department said recent water quality tests show unsafe bacteria levels.

Swimming at Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth is off-limits after recent water quality tests showed bacteria counts in the water exceeded acceptable limits.
The state Department of Health recommended the beach be closed to swimming on Wednesday.
“Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Water quality analysis is conducted by the State Health Laboratory or a state certified laboratory,” a news release stated.
