
A body that washed ashore in Portsmouth was recovered Wednesday night, according to Portsmouth police.
Police responded to Anthony Road at around 6:06 p.m. for a report of the body in shallow water, said Portsmouth Police Dep. Chief Major Brian P. Peters.
The body is believed to be that of a man who jumped from the Mt. Hope Bridge in Feburary and was never found.

The apparent suicide was investigated by the Bristol Police Department and the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification from the state Medical Examiner, police said.
The search for the victim in February was hampered by ice conditions in the bay.
