Portsmouth Boy Scout, Lego Fan, to Build Lego Table for Boys and Girls Club
Talk about a creative Boy Scout Eagle Scout project!
Adam Carceller of Boy Scout Troop 82 has taken a creative approach to his Eagle Scout project.
A lifelong Lego fan, Carceller has decided to build a Lego table for the Boys and Girls Club in Newport.
The club is very excited to be working with Carceller, who plans to spend many hours raising money and building the table for the boys and girls of Newport to share his passion for the infinite possibilities that Lego brings to the table.
"They were very excited to be part of my Eagle Project," Carceller said. "I have just completed my flyers to help me raise money for the materials and Legos."
The table will support eight people and consists of two long sides of Lego surface flanking a recessed well that will be filled with Legos of all shapes and colors.
This is where the public can pitch in. Carceller needs money, materials and legos to build his table.
On June 14, Carceller will be collecting Legos at a drop off event located at the family's home at 63 Lepes Road. The collection coincides with a yard sale being held that day. If you have any used Legos and want to donate, stop on by.
And he's also collecting items that could be sold at the yard sale, such as household items, sporting equipment, craft items, garage items or tools. Donations for the yard sale should be made by June 10.
All the proceeds from the sale will go to purchase materials and Legos.
If you're interested in donating money or other resources, call 401-683-4705.
Carceller is a sophomore at Portsmouth High School and the son of Chris and Sal Carceller.
