Boy Scout Troop 82 Honors its 137th Eagle Scout
Adam Carceller of Portsmouth Earns Highest Boy Scout Rank

Portsmouth Troop 82 presented Boy Scout’s highest rank achievement, Eagle Scout, to Adam Carceller on October 30, 2015 at an Eagle Court of Honor held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. The first in his family to achieve this distinguished honor, Adam Carceller, 17, is the son of Portsmouth residents Sal and Christine Carceller.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, Adam designed and created a Lego Center for The Boys & Girls Club of Newport. With donations from family, friends and neighbors, Adam held a garage sale to raise funds for the project. During the construction phase, Adam led a team of volunteers to build the custom designed 8 person Lego table. Adam presented The Boys & Girls Club of Newport with the unique Lego table, 8 stools, a storage cabinet, hundreds of pounds of Legos and donated $455 towards future purchases for the Lego Center. The new Lego Center has enabled The Boys & Girls Club of Newport to create an actual Lego program for children. Adam Carceller thanks the following businesses for their generosity in this project: Parvo’s Paint and Riverhead Building Supply (both in Middletown), Walmart (Newport) and The Lego Store (Braintree, MA).
Adam has been active in scouting for 12 years advancing in rank from the first level of Tiger Cub to this ultimate achievement of Eagle Scout. In Troop 82, Adam has held the leadership positions of Patrol leader, Webmaster and Librarian. Currently Adam is a senior at Portsmouth High School and is active in Recreational Basketball, First Robotics and a member of the National Art Honor Society. Adam will study architecture next year at college.
