Background on Barrington Christian Academy

Barrington Christian Academy is a private, regional, K-12 Christian college-preparatory school. Founded in 1979 by Barrington Baptist Church, with fifty students in grades 1-8, BCA expanded to include a high school beginning in 2006. The school currently  enrolls approximately 230 students, including a growing number of international students. The school’s Board of Trustees is an inter-denominational body, comprised of Christian educators, professionals and parents who have a commitment to the mission of Barrington Christian Academy. BCA is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, making it the only accredited K-12 Christian institution in Rhode Island.

BCA is now a leader in the Christian School movement, with Head of School Elsie R. Wright serving as the chair of the ACSI Northeast Region’s Accreditation Commission. Mrs. Wright also serves as president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Council for American Private Education (CAPE), and a board member for the Rhode Island Scholarship Association (RISA), which has led the RI Tax Credit initiative to provide families with tuition assistance.

BCA provides rigorous academic instruction that encourages students in the development of their God-given potential to, according to its vision, “lead in every arena of society with passion, skill, integrity, and faith.”
