Let’s start a daily painting practice together. The value of a commitment to a specific art-making practice is that the daily routine is both grounding and freeing, it’s an insistent act of documentation and with it, offers a way to make sense of it all. The on-going nature of this practice leaves the viewer rooting for the next day, while for the creator it emphasizes the creative process over product. My approach teaches a habit forming system for a daily (or almost daily) painting practice. We’ll talk about simplifying the painting process, obstacles to creating a daily practice (and how to overcome them), effective habit building, and ways to stay motivated through planning, reflection, and innovative painting techniques. I teach varying approaches that provide participants with a system to make a personalized daily creative habit and exercises that solidify a daily art making approach.

of an Evening fundraiser and auction, taking place on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Green Valley Country Club. This much-anticipated event brings together our school community to raise funds that enhance educational opportunities for Melville students. In past years, funds raised through Whale of an Evening have supported classroom resources, field trips, enrichment programs, and our Outdoor Learning Zone.

Melville Elementary School’s Whale of an Evening Fundraiser

The St. Barnabas 51st&nbsp;Festival Kickoff Dinner Dance will be held in the Parish Hall on May 2nd and will include a delicious BBQ dinner from South County Barbecue and then dancing to the sounds of Country Wild Heart after dinner. The dinner buffet will include pulled pork shoulder, pulled chicken breast, mac &amp; cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, honey corn bread and banana pudding.
 It will be a wonderful night for the entire family. Gather your crew and join us. The cost of the entire evening, dinner and music, is $35 for adults and $20 for children up to age 12, kids under 5 are free.

Historical Trolley Tour of Portsmouth: May 3, 2026 - REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Experience Portsmouth’s rich history from the comfort of a guided trolley tour on SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2026, 1PM - 3PM.&nbsp;
The trolley tour will begin and end at Greenvale Vineyards and will include stops at Prescott Farms, Founders Brook, and Greenvale Vineyards.
At the conclusion of the tour, guests will enjoy a brief talk from the vineyard owner, sharing the history and legacy of this scenic property.&nbsp;
