Civil War Sanitary Commission is Lecture Topic

2015 marks the anniversary of the ending of the American Civil War. The Portsmouth Historical Society invites you to a presentation on the Civil War Sanitary Commission by Gerry Burgess of Battery “B” of the 1st Rhode Island Light Artillery. Battery “B” operated during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1864. She will have artifacts and replicas of artifacts on display. This event is free and open to the public.
