Councilors Argue Over Budget

During Monday's Portsmouth Town Council meeting, Councilors Karen Gleason and Dennis Canario got into a heated debate over the town budget.

The conversation occurred after the council failed to adopt a budget. The meeting was recessed until Wednesday, when they reconvened and voted 4-3 to adopt a budget with a $502,000 cut to the school department's budget.

Councilors Keith Hamilton, James Seveney and Dennis Canario opposed the budget.
