District Court Log: Portsmouth Man Pleads Guilty to Making Crank 911 Calls

- Francisco Antonio Gomez, 21, of 44 East Barney St., Apt. 1, Newport was ordered in district court to pay $93.50 in court costs by Jan. 28. He was arrested on Sept. 21 in Newport and charged with disorderly conduct for threatening a person in public. Gomez pleaded no contest and received a suspended sentence and probation for six months. Gomez was also arrested on Oct. 29 in Newport and charged with destruction of property. He pleaded no contest on Oct. 25 and received a suspended sentence and probation for one year for that charge.
- David J. Barksdale, 19, of 22 Rosedale Terrace, Middletown, was ordered in district court on Tuesday to return on Dec. 8, stemming from an offense on Oct. 1. Charged with disorderly conduct from an incident in Middletown, he pleaded no contest and received 20 hours of community service. Barksdale was arraigned last month on a disorderly conduct charge from an incident in Middletown, and the case was dismissed.
- Destiny Ann Gray, 21, of 3 Scotty Drive, Portsmouth, admitted to violations in court on Tuesday for making a false 911 call on Dec. 23, 2009. Gray received a probation for one year, was ordered to return to court for a review next month.
- Steven J. Giordano, 18, of 22 Church St., Tiverton, was ordered in district court to pay $218.50 in court costs by Jan. 28. He was arraigned for a violation of a No Contact Order that took place on Nov. 18 in Tiverton. Giordano pleaded no contest and received probation for one year, and a new No Contact Order was signed on Tuesday. Giordano also admitted to violations, stemming from an offense on April 13 in Tiverton, for assaulting his girlfriend. He paid $173.50 in court costs on Aug. 3 for that charge.
- Gibson B. Correia, 20, of 128 Summer St., Central Falls, was ordered on Tuesday to pay $94.50 in court costs by Jan. 28. Correia was arrested on Sept. 23 in Tiverton for driving without a license. He pleaded no contest and was ordered to pay an additional $250 in court costs.
- George L. Glover, 57, of 101 Old Fort Road, Newport, was ordered to pay $780.50 in court costs by Jan. 28. He was arraigned on Nov. 9 for driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Glover pleaded no contest on Tuesday and was sentenced to 10 hours of community service, loss of license for three months, an additional $100 in court costs and mandatory DUI school and highway assessments.
- Arthur M. Aikens, 21, of 9 Park St., Newport, admitted to assault charges in district court on Tuesday. On Oct. 2, Aikens was arrested in Middletown and charged with simple assault and refusal to relinquish a telephone. He pleaded no contest and received probation for one year. Aikens was also arrested on May 2 in Middletown and charged with assault and battery to a family member, Denise Cole. On Tuesday, he pleaded no contest for this charge, received probation for one year and had to sign a No Contact Order.
- Dien Minh Phan, 46, of 54 Parker St., Apt. 1, Worcester, Mass., paid $100 in court costs stemming from a fishing case tasked by the Department of Environmental Management. Phan was arrested on Sept. 19 in Jamestown and charged with possession 17 undersized scup that measured less than the required 10.5 inches. Phan pleaded no contest to the charges and the $100 was paid to the Victim Crime Indemnity Fund.
- Michael Brito, 24 of 49 Danis St., Fall River, Mass., had a case dismissed in district court on Tuesday. He was arrested on Nov. 5 in Portsmouth and charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
- Kevin M. Johnson, 45, of 12 Mathewson St., Narragansett was ordered in district court to pay $94.50 in court costs by Jan. 28. He was arrested on April 4 in Portsmouth and charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (2nd offense) and leaving the scene of an accident, damage resulting. On Tuesday, the DUI charge was dismissed and he pleaded no contest and received a suspended sentence and probation for six months.
