DOT to Unveil Accessibility Improvements for East Main Road
The Town Council will get a presentation from state officials about the plan at tonight's Town Council meeting.

Officials from the state Department of Transportation on Monday will present details about planned sidewalk and accessibility improvements planned for East Main Road.
The project encompasses a portion of East Main Road from Turnpike Avenue to Boyd’s Lane along with improvements to the intersections at East Main Road and Park Avenue and East Main Road and Boyd’s Lane, among other details.
Town Council members were provided a color rendering of the proposed improvements (see attached).

The presentation will cover technical details and the timeline.
A major change in the plan would be the the end of access to Chase Road from Park Avenue and adjustment of Park Avenue so that it shares a traffic light with Basin Street.

The council meets at 7 p.m. at Portsmouth Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.
