DUI Suspect Stuffs Her Dress in Holding Cell Toilet, Creates Biohazard

One unlucky person got the job of cleaning out the female holding cell at the Portsmouth Police Department last week after a 24-year-old Cranston woman arrested for driving drunk allegedly induced herself to vomit and tried to flood the holding cell by stuffing her dress in the toilet.

Police said they responded to a report of an accident on Dec. 5 on East Main Road at around 10:45 p.m.

Officers found Jennifer Rose Aldana, of 42 Cedar St., Cranston, behind the wheel of her 2010 Honda Accord, which was partially resting on a stone wall.

Police said Aldana told officers that she was driving home from a party in Middletown and had a “few glasses of wine” before crashing while talking on her cell phone.

Police administered a field sobriety test at the scene, which Aldana failed, and she was arrested for driving under the influence.

Once inside the holding cell at the police station, police said Aldana inserted her finger into her throat to induce vomiting. She then “began spreading her own vomit on the walls and windows of the holding room,” according to a police report.

Aldana then removed her clothes, police said, and tried to flood the cell by clogging the toilet with her dress before spreading more vomit, banging her head against the cell wall and eventually lying on the ground motionless.

An officer opened the door to check on her condition and she sat up right away, telling the officer that she was “OK.”

Aldana reportedly refused medical treatment and complained that she had been arrested.

“There are murderers out there and I was only at a Christmas party and drove home drunk,” according to a police report.

Aldana was appeared in Second Division District Court the following day and was released on $3,000 personal recognizance. She is due to return to court on Dec. 11 for arraignment.
