Enjoy Coffee With A Portsmouth Cop On Oct. 2

Portsmouth's finest are taking part in this year's international Coffee WIth A Cop Day.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Come enjoy a cup of joe with one of Portsmouth's finest during this year's Coffee With A Cop. Portsmouth police invite the public to join them at Clement's Market at 9 a.m. on October 2.

Since its launch in 2011, Coffee With A Cop has grown to an international event aimed at building a better relationship between police departments and the community. More than 10,000 events have been held across the country and 15 countries since it was started.

"National Coffee with a Cop Day is our goal to have every police department in the United States collectively share a day meeting and engaging with their communities over a cup of coffee and good conversation," the organization's website said.

According to Coffee with a Cop's statistics, 135 organizations held events in 2017 and 70 percent of attendees said they felt better about their local police afterward.
