This year The Portsmouth Public Education Foundation (PPEF) celebrates its 10th anniversary of making a difference in the quality of education in our community with a Fall Showcase and Social, on Thursday, November 3 at Glen Manor House in Portsmouth. The public is invited to enjoy appetizers and cash bar while viewing exhibits of past Educational Excellence Grant Recipients and the current Teacher of the Year. Exhibits from Melville Elementary School, Portsmouth Middle School and Portsmouth High School will be featured.
Many local businesses have generously offered their support to public education by donating exciting offerings for our Silent Auction. Offerings include 6 day free dockage at Brewers Marinas, Golf packages from Green Valley, Newport National and Montaup Country Clubs, Season tickets to the Gulls plus a week of baseball camp, Theatre tickets, Museum tickets, Portsmouth Holly Ball tickets and much more.
A $10 special ticket, payable only online through PayPal, is offered for the 10 year Anniversary. Advance tickets may also be purchased for $15 per person or $25 per couple by contacting Marilyn Brockway at

The Portsmouth Public Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit (501 c-3) organization whose mission is to improve and enhance the quality of educational experiences for Portsmouth public school students. Educational Excellence Grants are offered throughout the school year to fund off-site educational opportunities, support curricula goal, engage community resources, purchase materials for projects or to purchase items of enduring benefit to the school and projects that provide benefit for an entire class or grade level. PPEF seeks to support the creativity and commitment of Portsmouth school teachers in a meaningful way that advantages our students and our community.
PPEF has awarded 149 grants since 2003.
