The Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee’s Annual Clam Boil offers an afternoon of traditional food, auction bargains, and opportunities to chat with local and state political leaders and candidates. The event will take place on the grounds of the Portsmouth Portuguese American Citizens Club on at 35 Power St. off of East Main Rd.

Open to the public, this popular event begins with the always entertaining auction and all you can eat chowder and clam cakes at 1 p.m. The New England Clam Boil -- fresh clams, chourico, sausage, hot dogs, onion, potato and corn on the cob -- will be served at 3 p.m.Â

There will also be plenty of time for meeting and talking with the elected officials and candidates who stop by to connect with the voters. Tickets for the day are $30 for adults, (tickets at the door may be limited), and $7 for children under 12 years of age.

The committee has been able to hold ticket prices to the same as last year: Tickets for the day are $30 for adults, (tickets at the door may be limited), and $7 for children under 12 years of age. Tickets are available at the PA Club, Allen’s Wine and Spirits, Ferreira’s Package Store or by calling Chuck Levesque at 847-2510. Proceeds from the event go to the Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee.
