Common Fence Music kicks off their 19th Season with a special 40th Anniversary Concert celebration by venerable folk/rock duo Aztec Two-Step.
Aztec Two-Step's name comes from a Lawrence Ferlinghetti poem, and since 1971 Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman have been writing and performing songs that helped make their generation's musical memories. The recording from their self-titled debut album (Elektra Records), The Persecution and Restoration of Dean Moriarty was the first song written about Jack Kerouac's iconic American novel, "On The Road."
To commemorate their 40th Anniversary this year, this coming fall anticipates the release of Aztec Two-Step’s Cause & Effect CD, a collection of re-worked and previously unrecorded songs of social significance.
