Did you know that Portsmouth is a Tree City, USA thanks to the efforts of the Tree Commission? Join us at Portsmouth Free Public Library on Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30 PM to hear more about the Portsmouth Tree Commission and about pruning, planting your own trees, hiring an Arborist and more from Portsmouth resident & Commission Chair, Scott Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler is the Supervisor of the Building & Grounds Division in Newport and is an ISA Certified Arborist. He is responsible for the Newport forestry program that includes planning, planting, pruning and removals. Each year he organizes educational programs including Arboretum Week with the Newport Tree Society.
