Public Meeting - Naval Station Newport Restoration Advisory Board (RAB)

Bring the family and friends to the open mic Wednesday Night Live at the Ganny at the Narragansett Café in Jamestown on Wednesday, September 16 from 7 to 9:15 pm. Enjoy live music, storytelling, standup comedy, poetry, dramatic readings, and anything else creative in a welcoming and comfortable space. The emcee’s are part of the show—standup comedy and stories.
The event is free and open to the public. The food is great and so are the drinks. Non-alcoholic beverages are available.
Each performer has the stage from five to seven minutes. Signup is at 6:30. Performers can preregister at&nbsp;WedsLiveGanny@gmail.com.

Would you like to tell a story or do improv at an open mic?Public speaking consistently ranks among people's greatest fears. Yet, at some point, we have opportunities, and we want to do well.
Through techniques drawn from actor training, you will learn to shift your focus away from internal anxiety and toward what truly matters: your physical presence, your vocal power, and your ability to tell a compelling story. Acting is not about pretending; it is about being fully present and connected to your audience. These same principles can turn public speaking from a source of dread into an opportunity for genuine connection.

About the Coach, Michael Langlois

Michale Langlois is a performing arts professional based in New London with decades of experience as a director and acting coach. He offers personalized coaching to help people build confidence in public speaking and shape compelling story lines. Michael has been the Artistic Director of the New London-Based Ashford Youth Theatre for 20 years and he designs and implement programming for Flock Theatre Company, also in New London.
