Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the Common Fence Point neighborhood environment on Saturday, April 20 from 9:00 AM until Noon. Meet at the Common Fence Point Improvement Association (CFPIA) Community Hall on Anthony Road to participate in general litter pickup and salt marsh restoration area maintenance. In case of rain, pick up supplies during the designated hours on April 20th and conduct your litter cleanup in time for trash pickup Monday, April 22nd.Register ahead of time with Brenda Munro by calling 286-8384 or e-mailing her at bwhalenmunro@gmail.com or just show up Saturday morning, April 20th. Please bring your own gloves, rakes, shovels and/or other tools you may need. It is also helpful to have small plastic bags for carrying along the beaches and roadsides for holding litter to deposit into the large brown trash bags. Common Fence Point was incorporated by Henry Brown in 1921. Approximately 42 acres of the neighborhood lands are held in trust, owned in common by all Common Fence Point property owners, and managed by the Trustees. See http://www.cfpia.org Some of the land held in trust consists of inland parks but the vast majority of the land is waterfront. The Common Fence Point neighborhood encompasses a peninsula located in northern Portsmouth.
This year’s cleanup is being organized by Mil Kinsella and Brenda Munro.
