The Portsmouth Historical Society will host the "Steel Cocoon: Tales of the Patients, Doctors and Nurses of the Iron Lungs" this Monday at 7 p.m.
The event will feature speaker Lynne M. Dunphy, a professor at the University of Rhode Island's College of Nursing, who will discuss tales of doctors and nurses who treated polio patients during the height of the epidemic. The event will also feature a slide presentation and photos.
