Family Of 5 Displaced After Portsmouth House Fire

The fire was out in 15 minutes, but the Portsmouth home wasn't habitable after the fire.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A family of five was displaced after their Portsmouth home caught fire Sunday night, according to fire officials.

Firefighters were called to the Crestview Drive Home around 10 a.m., after the family's smoke detectors woke them up.

One person was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but they didn't suffer any fire-related injuries, fire officials said. All the residents made it out safely.

Fire officials said the flames took about 15 minutes to put out, but the home is uninhabitable. The American Red Cross is assisting the five displaced people.
