In The Footsteps of Marco Polo

Denis Belliveau will be in Portsmouth to discuss his Emmy® nominated documentary

Portsmouth, RI – November 23, 2015 – Denis Belliveau - renowned filmmaker, author and explorer - will visit The Pennfield School on Tuesday, December 8, at 7 p.m. to discuss the Emmy® nominated PBS documentary “In The Footsteps of Marco Polo.” The documentary chronicles Belliveau’s and Francis O’Donnell’s journey as they set out to follow Polo’s historic route. This free event is open to the public and will be featured in the school’s auditorium at 110 Sandy Point Avenue, Portsmouth.

Brimming with adventure, history, art, and no small amount of humor, Belliveau promises a slide show and book signing experience that audiences will not soon forget. Light refreshments will be served.

This presentation represents a highlight during Denis’ three-day residency at the school, where students will have the opportunity to relive some of his experiences. They will erect a yurt, learn about the history of Indigo Dye, and discuss other commodities and goods traded along the Silk Road and Spice Route, among other phenomenal workshops.
