Get Out! Enjoy a Musical Week with Patsy Cline, Irish Songs, Navy Choristers or 'The Music Man'

Prepare for one musical weekend full of concerts and musical offerings, or you can head into Newport to take part in the parade festivities.

Irish pride and musical acts highlight the events being held this weekend. From the St. Patrick's Day parade to a Patsy Cline tribute, it's clearly time to put away the winter blues and head outside for marching, music and making memories.

    :  Patsy Cline is classic country - join the local members of the Country Memories Band for a tribute to country singer Patsy Cline. They will perform songs made popular by Patsy Cline along with other country favorites.

    : Cast includes Portsmouth High and Portsmouth Middle School students. Fun for all ages!

  • Music for a Sunday Afternoon
    When/Where
    : Sunday, March 13, 4 p.m.,
    Why Go
    :  They assure a crowd-pleasing performance! Proceeds to benefit Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and the Newport Choristers.

  • Celebrate Ireland at the Library
    When/Where
    :  , 2658 East Main Road, Portsmouth, March 15, 6:30 p.m. for dance instruction, 7 p.m. for music.
    Why Go
    : Celebrate Ireland in this wonderful family program of "Celtic Music and Dancing." Celtic harpist and vocalist Mary King and Phil Edmonds playing the tin whistle and button accordion will bring the sweet sounds of traditional Irish music to the library. Mary King will come 30 minutes early to teach a basic Irish jig to children.

  • St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festivies in Newport
    When/Where
